HPV DNA typing proficiency study 2021 (456)
External quality assessment for laboratories that perform HPV typing. The scheme is organised by Global HPV LabNet, an initiative established to support the world-wide implementation of HPV vaccines through improved laboratory standardization and quality assurance of HPV testing and typing methods to promote international comparability of results. Participant laboratories will be asked to perform HPV typing using one or more of their usual assays on the 44 challenges in this panel.
The test material/panel consists of 44 samples:
- 41 samples containing purified whole genomic plasmids of HPV 6, 11, 16, 18, 31, 33, 35, 39, 45, 51, 52, 56, 58, 59, 68a and 68b in a background of human cellular DNA. Each sample may contain either single types or a mixture of HPV types at varying concentrations.
- 3 samples containing cell suspensions to allow evaluation of DNA extraction methods.
The price for one panel (44 samples as described above) is 600 Euros for commercial entities and 250 Euros for academic entities. Participants from low and lower middle-income counties (World Bank classification with GNI (gross national income) per capita: <4045 USD) can apply for waiving of fee. Laboratories that have outstanding payments from past Global HPV LabNet proficiency studies will need to clear their debts before their registration is accepted.
